The standard distance between the seat and the bottom of the surface (table, counter, bar) is 12". Average width is 20", as drawn to scale on the diagrams below. Minimum clearance of 24” is recommended between the chair and the wall. If trying to accommodate for a tighter space, consider a bench (3'-10' ft standard) for at least one side of your table rather than chairs.

An easy way to help visualize the proper size furniture item / table for your room, is to take painters tape and map out the proposed area.

These are the standard dimensions and seating arrangements for our tables and chairs. Any custom sizes can be created or modified upon request.

The seating diagrams below are drawn to scale, with the chairs representing the average size of 20" width. The space between the chairs are 6" in between for every day use, or 2" in between (tight) for occasional use. Choosing a trestle base vs leg base will have an effect on leg room for those at the table.
